Publisher's Review:

Cruising Guide to the leeward Islands has, for many years, been the best selling guide to this magnificent and very varied area for the following reasons:

Excellent anchorage charts that are based on the author's surveys and are very clear and detailed. Aerial photos are included for most anchorages.  Like all Doyle’s guides, it is beautifully printed in full color on glossy paper with lots of scenic photography.

The navigational information is clear and concise, with GPS waypoints. The Doyle guides are unsurpassed for their onshore information, and this book is no exception, with excellent sections on exploring, provisioning, eating out, as well as services, and water sports for each anchorage.

Each guide is is backed by this website that offers downloadable GPS waypoints and Updates as well as general information and links to local businesses for all the islands coered int his guide. There is plenty of  local advertising is included, which most readers it find really useful. This advertising also helps to keep the price of this high quality book really reasonable.

Chris Doyle's other guides are published by Chris Doyle Publishing in association with Cruising Guide Publications. This guide is published by Cruising Guide Publications

I spent some time in St. Martin recently and made passages to Anguilla, St. Barth's, Saba, and Statia using this book. This guide was essential to the trip. In conjunction with charts, experience, and local knowledge, you could plan a few weeks' cruising. I saw a couple other cruising guides and while good, they don't compare to this one. It's a must have.

Clear, informative, useful photos of harbor entries - its a good compromise for the variety of users of a guide like this. I'm planning a 1 week cruise in the Rennaissance Islands and will keep the rest of the guide for future trips!

Well, there's not much to say, when you have to review THE OLNLY guide on the market. Also, by definition, you couldn't say much about the whole book. The region is pretty vast and unless you "live-on-board", there's no way you can say something valuable about the whole book. So, I'll concentrate on my own experience, which is covering Anguilla, St. Martin and St. Barth with its surroundings. I've just returned from St. Martin after a week of sailing and have to admit that despite a few, obviously "out-of-date" notations, all the info provided in the Guide is quite accurate. As the old motto goes, "don't leave home without it."
All I can say is "Don't leave home without it!" The only mistake we made on our two month sail, BVI to St. Lucia, was not following Chris's advice. I know a lot of folks don't like the ads, but we used them visiting several of the advertisers businesses and we were not disappointed. We are getting ready for a 3 month sail this Winter, 2015, and ordered this newer edition and waiting for the latest edition of the Windward. If you going to the Caribbean whether sailing or just vacationing, get these books!
